Contacting Us
TADS.ORG is the official site for the Text Adventure Development System. Michael Roberts, the author of TADS, created and maintains this site.
If you have any comments or questions about this site, you can reach us by email at tadsadmin at tads dot org (please convert the spelled-out punctuation to the actual characters - we wrote it that way to make it harder for automated spamming tools to recognize the address).
If you find a bug in TADS, please report it using the TADS Bug Database. Please don't send bug reports by email - the Bug DB is a better way to go, for us and for you. The database lets us keep track of everything that needs fixing, and it makes it easy for you to get up-to-date information on our progress.
See our Bug Reporting Tips for guidelines about entering bug reports.
We enjoy hearing from people about what they're doing with TADS. For technical support questions, though, we request that you try posting your question to the rec.arts.int-fiction newsgroup before contacting us directly. Going through "raif" (as it's known) has two advantages. First, your question will be seen by numerous TADS experts who read the group frequently, so chances are you'll get a quick and knowledgeable reply - usually faster than we can answer private email queries. Second, your question might be helpful to other people who have run into similar issues. If raif can't help you, though, feel free contact us directly.
Using newsgroups is easy, so don't worry that they're only for experts. Thanks to Google Groups, you can read and post to newsgroups via the Web, with no extra software to set up. To get started, go to groups.google.com, and type "group:rec.arts.int-fiction" into the search box. (Some people prefer to use special "newsreader" software instead, since newsreader programs can offer more features and customizability; if you want to go that route, refer to your ISP's instructions.)
